  • NewRay 1/48 WWII Plane Model Kit: Supermarine Spitfire

The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries before, during and after World War II. The Spitfire was built in many variants, using several wing configurations, and was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was also the only British fighter to be in continuous production throughout the war. The Spitfire continues to be popular among enthusiasts; about 54 remain airworthy, while many more are static exhibits in aviation museums throughout the world. The Spitfire was designed as a short-range, high-performance interceptor aircraft by R. J. Mitchell, chief designer at Supermarine Aviation Works, which operated as a subsidiary of Vickers-Armstrong from 1928. Mitchell pushed the Spitfire's distinctive elliptical wing (designed by B. Shenstone) to have the thinnest possible cross-section, helping give the aircraft a higher top speed than several contemporary fighters, including the Hawker Hurricane. Mitchell continued to refine the design until his death in 1937, whereupon his colleague Joseph Smith took over as chief designer, overseeing the development of the Spitfire through its multitude of variants.

  • WWII US Aircraft 1/72 P51D Mustang fighter plane non diecast Airplane collection Easy Model Pre-builded

The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is an American long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II and the Korean War, among other conflicts. The Mustang was designed in 1940 by North American Aviation (NAA) in response to a requirement of the British Purchasing Commission. The Purchasing Commission approached North American Aviation to build Curtiss P-40 fighters under license for the Royal Air Force (RAF). Rather than build an old design from another company, North American Aviation proposed the design and production of a more modern fighter. The prototype NA-73X airframe was rolled out on 9 September 1940, 102 days after the contract was signed, and first flew on 26 October.

  • FLOZ WWII Handley Page HP.52 Hampden Medium Bomber 1:144 diecast Aircraft plane Model

New with package Scale:1/144 diecast+resin parts finished model and ready to be displayed Size: 4.3 inches in length; 5.7 inches wingspan Facts The Handley Page HP.52 Hampden was a British twin-engine medium bomber of the Royal Air Force (RAF). It was one of a trio of then-large twin-engine bombers procured for the RAF, the other two being the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley and Vickers Wellington. The newest of the three medium bombers, the Hampden, was often referred to by aircrews as the "Flying Suitcase" because of its cramped crew conditions.[1] The Hampden served in the early stages of Second World War, bearing the brunt of the early bombing war over Europe, taking part in the first night raid on Berlin and the first 1,000-plane raid on Cologne. As the war went on, it became clear that the Hampden was unsuited to combat missions in the modern air war and, after a period of mainly operating at night, it was retired from RAF Bomber Command service in late 1942. As it was, by 1943, the other two medium bombers were also being superseded by the larger four-engined "heavies" such as the Avro Lancaster. While the Hampden was powered by Bristol Pegasus radial engines, a short-lived variant known as the Handley Page Hereford instead featured in-line Napier Daggers.

  • Academy JU87G-1 Stuka "Tank Buster" Model Kit

124501:72 Germany Ju87G-1 StukaThe JU-87 STUKA(the word for dive bomber) flew for the first time in 1935, and it entered production in 1937 with large trousered landing gear and full equipment for dive bombing, including a heavy bomb crutch that swung the missile well clear of the fuselage before release. During the Spanish Civil War, without serious enemy fighter opposition, the JU-87 proved ideal for the mission, able to dive very steepy at relatively slow speeds with an automatic pull-out device, yielding excellent accuracy. In Poland, the Low Countries and France the JU-87 was terribly effective and it repeated its success in Greese, Creta and parts of the Russian front. But, During the Battle of Britain the show STUKA with its fixed landing gear was slaughtered by Allied fighters and was withdrawn to attack targets which were not heavily defended. In 1942~45 its main work was close support in the Russian Front where it was an exceptional tank killer. The JU-87G-1 version carrying two 37mm flack cannons in underwing pods. Hans Ulrich Rudel, the most decorated Luftwaffe pilot of the war, claimed 519 Russian tanks. Throughout the war STUKA production was repeatedly ordered to end, only to be restarted since there were very few aircrafts so specialized to take its place.Fully En...

  • Sopwith Camel F.1 1/48 Scale WWI Fighter Biplane Model by NewRay

This posting is for one Sopwith Camel F.1 biplane Model kit from NewRay. This collection is made in the 1/48 scale which translates to approximate sizes, depending on model, of 7 inches in length with a wingspan of about 9 inches. Like other NewRay building kit, they are not your typical building kit where one needs to cut pieces out of runners/trees and glue them together, but instead they come as disassembled toys where one needs to attach the engines to the front of the fuselage and then the wings to the fuselage and connecting rods. All the screws, connecting rods and little screw driver are included in the box. No gluing or painting is needed as they are snap fit models. Markings and different color trims are present in some models and accurately done. This collection in particular is very nice looking because of the bright colors. From the photos (and more in person) one can appreciate that the paint is thik and the finish is glossy. The Sopwith Camel F.1 is the only model that comes in its "natural" color, meaning the plastic is made in the model's color. The other models are coated with colored paint which is why they look so good. One has to handle the models in order to confirm that they are indeed made of plastic and not metal. However, this nice finish and coloring co...
