  • Seachem Reef Builder 300gram

Reef builder raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Carbonates and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. Used as directed, reef builder will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef builder and reef buffer may be used together. Use reef builder to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use reef buffer to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH.

  • Seachem Reef Buffer 250gram

Reef Buffer will also raise carbonate alkalinity; however, it is intended primarily for use as a buffer in a reef system where the maintenance of a pH of 8.3 is often difficult. When pH is not an issue, Reef Builder or Reef Carbonate should be your first choice for a carbonate alkalinity supplement. Reef Buffer is specifically designed to meet the needs and requirements of the closed reef environment. The principal difference between Reef Buffer and Marine Buffer is that the pK of Reef Buffer is slightly higher than that of Marine Buffer. The pK of a buffering agent is equivalent to the pH around which that buffer most strongly buffers. One would presume, then, that the pK of a saltwater buffer should be 8.3; however, the multitude of organic acids produced by the inhabitants of a reef system forces pH downward to a much greater degree than in a non-reef, marine system. A buffer with a pK of 8.3 would end up yielding a pH more in the range of 8.0-8.2. Reef Buffer's higher pK (8.6) allows for greater pH stability in a reef system where the bio load is significantly more than in a fish only system.

  • Seachem Reef Complete 500ml

Reef complete is a concentrated optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to restore and maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater without affecting pH. Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide calcium (reef complete) and carbonates (reef builder or reef carbonate). reef complete also includes magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios. This allows one to maintain These two important elements while maintaining calcium.

  • Reef Builder, 4 kg / 8.8 lbs

Reef Builder raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on ph. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Carbonates and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide carbonates (Reef Builder) and calcium (Reef Advantage Calcium or Reef Complete). Reef alkalinity should be maintained at 3-5 me/L (8-14 dahl). Alkalinity should not be allowed to fall below 2 me/L. DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess alkalinity may enhance the loss of calcium, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart. Contains carbonate, bicarbonate, chloride, and sulfate salts of sodium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, and potassium. Each gram contains a minimum of 12 me of alkalinity.

Reef Builder™ and Reef Buffer™ may be used together. Use Reef Builder™ to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef Buffer™ to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH. Unlike the competition, Reef Builder™ contains calcium, magnesium, and strontium to compensate for the inevitable loss which occurs when raising alkalinity. It also contains sufficient magnesium to restore magnesium routinely depleted.

  • Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium 500gram

Sachem Reef Advantage Calcium is equivalent to dry Reef Complete. It is a non-caustic (pH 8.3-8.6) optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to restore and maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater. Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. Reef Advantage Calcium also includes magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios. This allows one to maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium. If either usage or precipitative loss results in a more rapid loss of either magnesium or strontium, then Reef Advantage Magnesium, Reef Advantage Strontium, or Reef Strontium. may be employed. Unlike limewater (kalkwasser), Reef Advantage Calcium does not have a caustic pH and will not deplete magnesium. Used as directed, it will not deplete alkalinity.
